The series is the Indian adaptation of the international reality format Fear Factor and features celebrities performing challenging stunts involving heights, water, animals, speed, confined spaces and other fear-based situations.
Khatron Ke Khiladi premiered on Colors TV in 2008 and has since completed 14 regular seasons, while Season 15 is currently underway in 2026. Over the years, the show has been hosted by Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Kapoor and Rohit Shetty. Rohit Shetty has become the face most closely associated with the programme and has hosted most of its recent seasons.

Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 1 Winner – Nethra Raghuraman
The first season of Khatron Ke Khiladi premiered on 21 July 2008 and introduced Indian television viewers to the celebrity-based Fear Factor format. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar hosted the season, which was filmed in South Africa.
Model and actress Nethra Raghuraman became the first-ever Khatron Ke Khiladi winner. Urvashi Sharma finished as the runner-up. The inaugural season established the format of celebrities performing difficult physical and fear-based tasks.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 2 Winner – Anushka Manchanda
Season 2 premiered on 7 September 2009, with Akshay Kumar returning as host. The competition was again filmed in South Africa.
Singer Anushka Manchanda won the second season after delivering strong performances through the competition. Model Jesse Randhawa finished as the runner-up. The season concluded on 1 October 2009.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 3 Winner – Shabir Ahluwalia
The third season introduced a major hosting change, with Priyanka Chopra taking charge of the programme. It premiered on 6 September 2010 and was filmed in Brazil.
Television actor Shabir Ahluwalia became the Season 3 champion. Former squash player Ritwik Bhattacharya finished as the runner-up. The season retained the core Fear Factor format while introducing a different presentation style.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 4 Winner – Aarti Chhabria
Akshay Kumar returned as host for Season 4, which premiered on 3 June 2011. The season carried the tagline “Torchaar 4” and was filmed in South Africa.
Actress Aarti Chhabria won the season, while singer Mauli Dave finished as runner-up. This was Akshay Kumar’s third season as host of the main series.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 5 Winner – Rajneesh Duggal
Season 5 marked the beginning of the Rohit Shetty era. The filmmaker and action director became host and brought his own style of action and stunt presentation to the programme.
The season, titled “Darr Ka Blockbuster,” premiered on 22 March 2014 and was filmed in South Africa. Actor and model Rajneesh Duggal won Season 5, while Gurmeet Choudhary finished as runner-up.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 6 Winner – Aashish Chaudhary
Rohit Shetty returned to host Season 6. The season was promoted with the tagline “Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns” and premiered on 7 February 2015.
Actor Aashish Chaudhary won the title, while actor and singer Meiyang Chang finished as the runner-up. Like several earlier editions, Season 6 was filmed in South Africa.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 7 Winner – Sidharth Shukla
Season 7 was hosted by Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor, making it the only regular KKK season hosted by him. The programme moved to Argentina and premiered on 30 January 2016.
Popular television actor Sidharth Shukla won the season. Actress Sana Saeed finished as the runner-up. The season was promoted with the tagline “Kabhi Peeda Kabhi Keeda in Argentina.”
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 8 Winner – Shantanu Maheshwari
Rohit Shetty returned as host in Season 8 and has remained strongly associated with the series since then.
The season was filmed in Spain and carried the tagline “Pain in Spain.” It premiered on 22 July 2017. Actor and dancer Shantanu Maheshwari won the competition, while television actress Hina Khan finished as runner-up.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 9 Winner – Punit Pathak
Season 9 was filmed in Argentina and hosted by Rohit Shetty. It premiered on 5 January 2019 with the tagline “Jigar Pe Trigger.”
Dancer and choreographer Punit Pathak was declared the winner. Singer and television personality Aditya Narayan finished as the runner-up. Punit’s physical fitness and consistent performance helped him win the trophy.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 10 Winner – Karishma Tanna
Season 10 premiered on 22 February 2020 and was filmed in Bulgaria. Rohit Shetty continued as the host.
Actress Karishma Tanna emerged as the winner, while Karan Patel finished as runner-up. The season’s television schedule was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused a temporary break in the telecast before the remaining episodes resumed.
Karishma Tanna’s victory also placed her among the notable female winners in the history of Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 11 Winner – Arjun Bijlani
Season 11 was filmed in South Africa and premiered on 17 July 2021. Its tagline was “Darr VS Dare.”
Popular television actor Arjun Bijlani won the season, while Divyanka Tripathi finished as runner-up. Divyanka was one of the strongest performers of the season, but Arjun eventually secured the trophy in the finale.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 12 Winner – Tushar Kalia
Season 12 premiered on 2 July 2022 and once again took the contestants to South Africa. Rohit Shetty hosted the season.
Choreographer Tushar Kalia won Season 12. Social media personality and actor Faisal Shaikh, popularly known as Mr Faisu, finished as the runner-up.
The season was promoted with the tagline “Bach Ke Kahan Jayega? Khatra Kahin Se Bhi Aayega!”
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 13 Winner – Dino James
Season 13 premiered on 15 July 2023 and was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. Its tagline was “Iss Baar Har Level, Darr Next Level.”
Rapper and singer Dino James emerged as the champion, while actor Arjit Taneja finished as runner-up.
Dino impressed through his consistency, physical strength and ability to remain calm during difficult challenges. His performance throughout the season helped him reach the finale and win the trophy.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 14 Winner – Karan Veer Mehra
Season 14 brought an important change in filming location as production moved to Romania. The season premiered on 27 July 2024 and was hosted by Rohit Shetty.
Actor Karan Veer Mehra won the Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 trophy. Krishna Shroff finished as the runner-up, while Gashmeer Mahajani was also among the leading finalists.
The season carried the theme “Darr Ki Nayi Kahaaniyaan In Romania” and concluded on 29 September 2024.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 15
Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 15 premiered on 1 August 2026 on Colors TV, with digital streaming on JioHotstar. Rohit Shetty returned as host, while South Africa again became the filming destination.
Season 15 carries the tagline “Darr Ka Naya Daur.” The season features a fresh group of contestants along with some participants who have previously appeared in Khatron Ke Khiladi.
As of 28 August 2026, Season 15 is still underway. The winner and runner-up have therefore not yet been officially declared.
Khatron Ke Khiladi: Made in India
Apart from the numbered seasons, the franchise also featured a special spin-off called Khatron Ke Khiladi: Made in India in 2020.
The special edition premiered on 1 August 2020 and featured contestants who had previously participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Nia Sharma won the competition, while Karan Wahi finished as runner-up. Farah Khan hosted the initial episodes before Rohit Shetty took over.
Since Made in India was a special spin-off rather than a numbered season, Nia Sharma is not included in the regular Season 1 to Season 15 winners list.
Khatron Ke Khiladi Hosts Over the Years
Khatron Ke Khiladi has had four main hosts during its television run.
